OC Admissions Reps
Jacki Dotts earned a Bachelor of Arts in communication studies and English with an emphasis in creative writing in 2015. During her time in college, Jacki developed an appreciation for education at a private, liberal arts institution, and especially, the strong sense of community that is often paired with such a college.
“My education helped me learn to focus on creativity,” Jacki said. “Now, I apply that to everything in life and know it will be a great tool to use in my role at Olivet College.”
Further, Jacki served as the vice president of publicity for her alma mater’s Union Board, the student-led organization responsible for coordinating campus events and entertainment. It was in that role Jacki discovered her passion for event planning.
Jacki continued to develop her talent in event planning as the restaurant manager at Reddeman Farms Golf and Banquet. In that role, Jacki honed her organizational and leadership skills, planning, budgeting and scheduling events and supervising employees.
Additionally, Jacki served as an intern for 826michigan, a non-profit that focuses on providing educational resources in writing and creative arts to youth. There, Jacki continued building foundational skills, but exceptionally enjoyed building relationships with students in first grade through seniors in high school seeking opportunities to learn and grow.
“I really enjoy working with students who want more for themselves,” Jacki explained. “I can relate to that and strongly believe Olivet College is a great choice for young men and women who want a positive college experience. I can’t wait to showcase what OC has to offer.”
Combining her passions in event planning and community youth support, Jacki found the on-campus recruitment coordinator role at Olivet College a perfect match for her interests. Her high energy level and friendly personality will assist Jacki in welcoming prospective students to campus, and providing them with a positive introduction to launch their OC experience.
