OC Admissions Reps
Victoria Thach serves as an admission representative at Olivet College. Her love for education and building relationships with students stems from her own experience transitioning to college as a first-generation student.
“As a first-generation student, I was constantly getting lost when I was trying to figure out college: pre- and post-times. However, I had many folks at the high school and college level who helped me grow as an individual and instilled self-advocacy in me,” Victoria explained. “I knew once I graduated college I wanted to bridge that gap for students like myself, so I knew the realm of education was where I wanted to be.”
Prior to joining the Olivet College admission team, Victoria served as a college adviser at her high school alma mater in Lansing for two years. There, she built strong relationships with first-generation, underrepresented students, like herself, and helped them navigate their post-secondary plans through one-on-one advising, financial aid workshops, classroom/college visits and more. Through her role as a college adviser, Victoria often worked with the admission team at Olivet College, and she is excited to grow her relationships with students from this perspective.
“As someone who worked at a Lansing Promise school in collaboration with Olivet College, it was an absolute joy when they would visit us,” Victoria said. “I knew my students were in good hands. Starting from when my students were learning about the admission process for Olivet College, the admission team welcomed them with open arms and made sure they knew what they were doing every step of the way, whether that was applying to OC, completing the FAFSA or anything else.”
Victoria is excited to work with students in central and west Michigan, including Ingham, Clinton, Gratiot, Ionia, Montcalm, Kent, Barry, Allegan and Ottawa counties.
