Olivet’s competitive dance team will officially debut in the fall of 2017 and focus on jazz and hip-hop styles. The team will give performances at half time of football and men’s basketball games during the fall and winter.

Olivet’s team will also compete in the Universal Dancers Association for a bid to a national competition held at Disney World in Orlando, Florida. Coach Thomas is also planning year-round workshops and training opportunities.

Both male and female students may audition for the team by video submission or in person. Scholarships up to $3,000 are available for award based on performance and talent. Join Olivet College’s competitive dance team to pave the way for a successful program.

Lisa Ash serves as head coach of both the competitive dance team and cheer and STUNT team at Olivet College. Coach Ash previously served as the cheer coach for the Olivet Junior Eagles program from 2014-17 and as the director of the Olivet Youth Cheer program from 2014-16. Her greatest passion is to help others, and she also worked in the nonprofit sector with underserved populations. Now, she plans to combine her lifelong love of cheer with her desire to help students-athletes create successful futures in her role as coach.

OC gives the students a family feel in a small town atmosphere. It allows students to feel at home and supported throughout their college experience. Not to mention amazing academic and athletic opportunities!
