Difference Maker Scholarship
Anyone with a passion for helping others can become a Difference Maker, and even earn a scholarship too! Students who are dedicated to, as stated by our founders, “the divine art and science of doing good to others” may apply for the Difference Maker scholarship, up to $2000 a year.
Students awarded the scholarship must complete 25 hours of local community service a semester, coordinate fall and spring Service Day projects, and participate in Difference Maker meetings. This opportunity is for new, admitted, residential students who demonstrate through an essay, video or other creative submission the positive ways in which they have made a difference in their communities, schools or organizations.

Community Service Coordinator and Director of Difference Maker Scholarship Program
Carrie Jacob, a 2014 Olivet College graduate, serves as the community service coordinator and director of Difference Maker Scholarship program. While she earned a degree in writing, Jacob is happiest when she is helping others and has a deep passion for service. In her roles, she oversees the list of Service Day projects hosted by the clubs and organizations on campus, in addition to assisting and organizing many other service trips and outreaches. Jacob’s goal is to expose the college community to service and encourage others to get involved.
The college was founded on the principle of doing service and doing it for others, so I think it’s important that we involve everyone on campus in some sort of service. It helps people who have the heart for service, who may not realize it, learn that they want to be involved.Carrie Jacob
