Olivet College is gearing up for what is sure to be an incredible fall semester, and we’re excited to welcome the class of #OC2020 to campus for the first time! To all new freshmen, transfer students and their families, welcome to #OCNation! And to returning students, welcome back!

Now that Move-In Day is complete, here’s what you can expect for the rest of Welcome Week at OC. Don’t hesitate to ask questions by contacting us at any time at 800.456.7189.

Monday, Aug. 29

Greek Leadership Training for fraternities and sororities will take place from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. in Mott Room 110.

Night on the Town, sponsored by the Olivet Chamber of Commerce, is an awesome chance to win some prizes and get tons of free stuff (pens, sticky notes, school supplies, food, gift cards, you name it!) from the businesses downtown. Dinner will also be served on main street from 5-7 p.m. so don’t be confused if the KC is closed. Get a good night’s sleep for the beginning of classes tomorrow!

Tuesday, Aug. 30

Rise and shine for your first official day of class! Make sure to pay attention to the syllabus in every class – it’ll come in handy all semester.

Tuesday night, head down to the Lamplighter for OC College Night from 9-11 p.m. sponsored by Student Government Association.

Wednesday, Aug. 31

Attend your first major seminar, where you’ll meet with fellow students and faculty in your academic program. Then, follow your professor over to Upton Gymnasium for the President’s Opening Convocation at 11:15 a.m. The entire campus will be there so don’t miss out on hearing President Corey speak (it gives us goosebumps!)

Directly following, Stand-Up will begin as soon as you walk of the Upton doors, the last event scheduled for Welcome Week. Stand-Up is a longstanding part of Olivet history. Your mentors, guides and friends for the next four years and beyond line the sidewalks of campus to shake your hand, fist bump or high-five you into the school year. Join the tradition as you become part of OC history.

Grab some lunch afterwards with cotton candy and snow cones for desert in the Square. Also, DJ Butcher will be spinning, a mechanical bull will be free to students and even battle it out in sumo wrestling suits!
